RISE: An apprenticeship by Emperor

RISE is our brand new, industry-defining Apprenticeship Programme. Launched in February, RISE proactively offers young people the access, space and confidence to shape a career in the communications industry.

We know that many young people lack access to our industry. In partnership with Visionpath, we’re reaching out to local sixth form schools to talk to students about our work and what a career in the agency world might look like. We’re also scrapping interviews. Instead, we’re hosting a one-day immersion where candidates get a real taste of our work, culture and people.  

We’re not looking for experience. But we do want positivity, inquisitiveness, passion, ambition and creativity from our apprentices. We’re so excited for its potential!

For the RISE class of 2022, we have committed to six apprenticeships. They'll rotate through three placements in account management, project management and strategy, while completing a Business Administration qualification. At the end of the programme, we’ll work with candidates to match them to roles that leverage both their interests and their strengths.

We're launching in London, before taking it into regions where we have other offices. There’s also huge scope to collaborate with other agencies in the industry so together, we can create a much greater impact. It’s been an ambition of our CEO Steve Kemp for several years, so we are thrilled to see it become a reality. The vision for the future is to lead an apprenticeship programme for our entire industry.
