While Omnibus negotiations and due diligence roll on, the first CSRD-compliant, ESRS-aligned publications are going live. These dense, detailed documents are the product of countless hours of labour by resource-stretched reporting and sustainability teams. While the hard work of these teams should be recognised, more can be done to help them achieve the directive’s ambitions: to improve transparency and engage stakeholders with material sustainability.
As we move into next reporting cycle, in-scope companies are advancing their disclosures and meeting phase-in requirements. However, they should also be focused on improving the design and layout of documents and statements, so readers can better engage with the content and get the clear and useful information they need to make key decisions.
Companies should be joining the dots between their disclosures, so they can tell an impactful story, demonstrate integrated thinking and show their capacity to benefit people and the environment. That’s why at Emperor, we’re holding a webinar with fellow experts Arkk and Pomelo to discuss how compliance with ESG reporting needn’t stop organisation telling a clear and compelling story.
After the introduction of the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF), you can now have a report that not only meets requirements but tells an engaging story. ESG reports should be no different. Reporting experts Arkk offer a ESG digital tagging solution, so companies don’t have to sacrifice their design and narrative to meet obligations.
GRI, CSRD or ISSB, reporting standards all now have a digital reporting option. This allows you to mark up the report in an iXBRL format to make information both human and machine readable. It’s anticipated that this will become mandatory for many issuers over the coming years. So it’s wise to consider the implications of this now.
In the UK and across the EU, more stakeholders are digesting information digitally. Regulators or investors no longer need to read reports from beginning to end. Thanks to iXBRL, relevant information can be obtained, compared and analysed at the click of a button. And as AI begins to shape digital reporting, it’s important to have structured reporting for the sake of accuracy. iXBRL will add this to any designed report.
Software and consulting experts Pomelo-Paradigm offer a collaborative Disclosure Management platform to help you create your sustainability report with full compliance and attractive design.
The right tool can help you save up to 20% of your time, by gathering everyone and everything you need in a single place, and harnessing agile, collaborative features that put humanity back into your CSRD journey.
A broad variety of Interconnexions (APIs) with your Disclosure Management allows you to easily manage all your contents (financial data, ESG, carbone) to empower your sustainability strategy. It’s all about merging a perfect storytelling with seamless and accurate data.
Join the teams from Emperor, ARKK and Pomelo at our dedicated webinar, Storytelling in the era of data-driven disclosures. We’ll be sharing our insights together on Sep 16, 2025, at 10am BST / 11am CET.
